Call for Papers for JSIS

The Journal of Shi‘a Islamic Studies (JSIS)

The Journal of Shi‘a Islamic Studies (JSIS), published by ICAS Press for The Islamic College, is inviting submissions for upcoming issues. As a specialized academic journal, JSIS focuses exclusively on Shi‘a Islamic studies, offering a platform for rigorous and informed scholarship on topics unique to the Islamic Shi‘a tradition. We are particularly interested in original research that explores key aspects of Shi‘ism, including Qur’an and hadith interpretation, theology, philosophy, mysticism, jurisprudence, and historical developments within the Shi‘a community.

JSIS offers a platform for exploring the central debates and challenges shaping Shi’a Islamic thought. Our aim is to foster a deeper understanding of Shi’a perspectives and address contemporary issues within the field. Articles are published for free in our paperback edition and are also available online through the Project Muse platform for individual access.

Submissions will undergo a rigorous double-blind peer-review process. For detailed submission guidelines and more information, please visit our website:
