A short Description of the Talk:

In this talk, Dr Howard will address the sensitive question of the identity and mission of Jesus and of his mother, Mary, in Christian and Muslim traditions, noting common ground and contextualising differences.

Bio:

Fr Damian Howard SJ is an English Jesuit priest, currently serving as Senior Catholic Chaplain to the University of Oxford. He is the author of Being Human in Islam (Routledge, 2011) and has worked for many years to promote positive understanding between Christians and Muslims. As well as offering adult education, he used to lecture at Heythrop College in the University of London. He has served as member of delegations in several high level dialogues between the Holy See (“the Vatican”) and various Muslim groups.
