The college is established as the Islamic College for Advanced Studies (ICAS)

Hawza & Distance Education Begin
The College offers a Hawza programme. The Department of Distance Education is launched.


Partnership with Middlesex University
- The College begins its partnership with Middlesex University with the validation of a BA (Hons) Islamic Studies programme.
- The College is accredited with the British Accreditation Council (BAC).
MA Islamic Studies Launched
- A new level of cooperation begins between the College and Middlesex University with the introduction of MA Islamic Studies.
- The College offers certificate courses in Islamic Banking and Qur’anic Arabic.
- The Journal of Shi’a Islamic Studies (JSIS) is launched under ICAS Press.


MA Islamic Studies Launched
- ICAS is renamed ‘The Islamic College’ to reflect its growing higher education course provision.
- MA Comparative Philosophy* is launched.
- MA Islamic Studies (Distance Education)* is launched.
- Islam and Human Rights is added to the College’s certificate course provision
- The College joins the UK Postgraduate Application and Statistical Service (UKPASS).
- Construction begins on a new campus building.
Rebranded as The Islamic College
