ISC214 – Islamic Family Law

Drawing on Introduction to Islamic Law, the aim of this module is to give a fuller account of Islamic family law by examining major issues of family law in Islam, and also considers some of the legislation of predominately Muslim countries in this regard. Some comparison with English family law will be carried out. Additionally, it will give the student insight into both traditional and modern interpretations of Islamic family law and its different applications. Some comparison with English family law will also be carried out.
