Modern Standard Arabic (MSA) Language Course
Course Overview
This course is designed for adult learners who wish to acquire or improve their Standard Arabic language skills. It caters to beginners as well as those with some prior knowledge of the language. The course emphasizes practical communication skills and cultural understanding, using the four key skills: listening, speaking, reading, and writing. Students will be able to engage effectively in everyday conversations and incorporate the essentials of the Arabic writing system to efficiently read and write basic sentences and paragraphs.

Course Objectives
- Develop foundational skills in reading, writing, speaking, and listening in Arabic.
- Gain a functional understanding of Arabic grammar.
- Build a vocabulary base for everyday situations.
- Enhance cultural awareness of the Arab world.
Course Structure
Duration and Hours
The course is a one-year course divided into three terms per year, each spanning approximately 11 weeks. Classes are held twice a week (Mondays and Fridays) in the evenings, each session lasting two hours (6:30pm-8:30pm). All classes are currently based on campus, in-person attendance is required (online classes are currently not available).
Teaching methods:
The course is taught by qualified native speakers and will be delivered in English and Arabic. The teaching methods include:

- Multimedia resources (audio and video)
- Plus extra supporting material selected by THE ISLAMIC COLLEGE Arabic department/teacher
