Looking Again: Islamic Art

What Does Islamic Art Mean to You?

Islamic art has long been a meeting point of beauty, meaning and devotion, a visual language through which faith, knowledge and culture have found expression across centuries and continents. Looking Again invites visitors to pause and reconsider this rich heritage, bringing together a diverse range of artistic expressions that span different perspectives, traditions and contemporary interpretations.

At the heart of the exhibition is a simple but searching question: What does Islamic art mean to you? We hope the works on display will prompt reflection and conversation, and offer an opportunity to engage with Islamic art not only as a historical legacy but as a living and evolving tradition.

We warmly encourage community members, alumni and students to visit, engage with the artwork, and support the participating artists, whose work enriches our shared cultural and intellectual life.

What to Expect

The Exhibition: A diverse collection of artworks exploring Islamic art through classical traditions, personal perspectives and contemporary interpretations, inviting visitors to reflect on what Islamic art means to them.

Artist Talks: An opportunity to hear directly from participating artists about their inspirations, creative processes and the ideas behind their work, and to join the conversation with them.

ICAS Publications (with special discount)

A selection of ICAS Press publications will be available at a special 20% discount throughout the exhibition, offering a chance to explore titles in Islamic thought, philosophy, spirituality and scholarship.
