The recitation of the Holy Qur’an is highly recommended by Allah and His Holy Prophet Muhammad (S).

Allah says in Surah al-Muzzammil:

وَرَتِّلِ الْقُرْءانَ تَرْتِيلاً
And recite the Qur’an clearly [with correct pronunciation of letters and applying the rules of stopping including distinct and organised melodies] (73:4).

The Prophet Muhammad (S) said:

أَفْضَلُ الْعِبَادَةِ قِرَائَةُ الْقُرْءَانِ
The greatest ritual worship is the recitation of the Holy Qur’an (Majmaʿ al-Bayān, vol. 1, p. 15).
