Prophet Muhammad(s):
A universal role model and a mercy for mankind
The Islamic College cordially invites you to join us in celebrating the life and legacy of the noble Prophet of Islam, Muhammad(s), at the joyous occasion of Milad al-Nabi. As one of the biggest celebrations across the Islamic world, Milad al-Nabi reflects the deep love and devotion Muslims have for their beloved Prophet of Mercy – the greatest favour from Allah and the most beautiful example of a human being.
The Prophet Muhammad(s) occupies a central place in the hearts and minds of Muslims everywhere and eternally. The greatest messenger of God’s final revelation to mankind, he spent his life striving to transform and enlighten, gently remind and teach his community with love and compassion.
Through his example, the Prophet(s) showed us how to live a life permeated with spirituality, yet at the same time to actively engage in the service to humankind in a quest for social justice and equality and in search for the answers to deepest existential problems.
The Milad al-Nabi celebration is one of many initiatives of the Islamic College designed to build unity and strengthen relationships among all peoples. This call for unity, harmony, and love between Muslims as brothers and sisters in faith, and mankind in general as brothers and sisters in humanity, is one of the greatest obligations placed on us by Allah and the greatest, most cherished inheritance left to us by our beloved holy Prophet Muhammad(s). Muslims today stand at the threshold of tremendous opportunity in the midst of challenges and difficulties – to collectively reject every form of oppression, injustice, and extremism and forge a way towards a better world by uniting under the common love they share for their revered Prophet.
Please do join us for an evening of listening to eloquent Qur’an recitations, joyous nasheeds, audience interactions, and luminous reflections by leading religious scholars, academics, community leaders, and students on the life of this unique human being.
The event will be held at The Islamic College, 133 High Road, Willesden, London, NW10 2SW on Wednesday 6th December 2017 at 6 pm
