MA Islamic Studies

Applicants should hold a first or good second class honours degree in Islamic Studies or related fields. Meanwhile, consideration is also given to other qualifications on an individual basis. Non-formal qualifications may also be considered. Applicants with no relevant background may be advised to take some foundation modules in Islamic Studies and especially in Arabic language. All applicants are invited for interview. Where applicants cannot attend an interview, the application may be discussed over a telephone conversation. Applicants whose first language is not English should provide at least IETLS results of 6.5 or equivalent.

How to Apply

All applicants (UK, EU, and international) for the post-graduate courses offered at the Islamic College should apply via http://www.ukpass.ac.uk.

Applicants interested in the distance education courses can also apply directly via the distance education website at http://www.openstudy.org.

Applicants interested in applying for the academic year 2012-2013 are requested to send in their application no later than the 27th August 2012. Late entries will be considered subject to availability of space in the particular course. Normally the term begins early October and ends in September the following year.

Required Documents for Application

Applicants need to provide the following documents with their application before it can be considered:

  • Copies of transcript and certificate of your previous degree(s) and qualifications
  • Copies of your identity document/passport
  • Two academic references
  • Two passport size photographs
